| What is the
color? This is a custom mix from PPG. We have always liked purple but most have too much blue in them. We made several attempts and finally found the right hue when we mixed magenta & white with the basic purple. We then applied it over a magenta base. |

| Did you do
the paint and body work? No. Keenan and Clete Greseth of Street–Rods USA in El Paso, Texas, did all body and paint work. |

| How long have
you had the car? I purchased the car in 1996 as a graduation present to myself after getting my Doctorate from the University of San Francisco. The car was finished, but not well done. So, we took it to Street-Rods USA for an off-frame update. That took a little over a year with all of the changes we made. |

| Do you really
drive this car? Yes, we do. Certainly, we never take it out when there is a chance of rain, and all of our trips are less than 50 miles. With the Pro-Street configuration, even a flat tire puts me on the side of the road. Plus, with 500HP, the tank empties pretty quickly and finding 108 racing fuel on the road isn’t likely. |

| Is Texas Quake
a steel car? No. Except for the hood, which is steel (even the bubble), the car is fiberglass. You will note we will run the car without the hood from time to time. I like the aggressive look of the Shotgun scoop, while Jan thinks the hood gives the car a more "finished" look. |

| If Texas Quake
is fiberglass, who is the manufacturer? Minotti. |

| Has Texas Quake
been featured in a magazine? YES! The Quake was the Cover Car for the April, 2002 issue of Southern Rodder. In addition, we have been spotlighted in other issues of Super Chevy, and Custom Rodder. |

| Is Texas Quake
featured on any automotive web sites? Yes, we have been on a number of web sites featuring all kinds of cars. However, we find that keeping up with site status (many of them don't stay on the air very long) is a pain, so we don't put the links here any more. |

| Why did you
choose a pink interior? Actually, it is Rosewood, and Jan did all of the color selection. Her complaint about most street rods is that although wild colors are the norm for the outside, most rods are either gray or tan on the inside. She wanted our interior to “match” the exterior paint as well as be an attention getter. With the comments we get, I would say she accomplished that goal. |

| Can you tell
us about the engine - cubic inches - blower size - compression, etc.?
See The Texas Quake - Fact Sheet. |

| Do you race
Texas Quake? No. To be NHRA legal, we would need a 12-point cage, which would require another off frame effort, and Jan won’t go for that!!! |

| How many shows
have you been in, and what have you won? See the Texas Quake - Winners Circle. |

| Is Texas Quake
for sale? Everything has a price, we just don’t push it. If someone really wanted the car, I would let it go. |

| How much money
do you have invested in the car? More than I care to talk about here and certainly more than we talk about at home! |

| Who does the
mechanical work? My brother-in-law, Danny Killian, and I are the main players. If we screw something up, I will go to a professional. However, so far, we have kept it out of the ditch. Thanks, Danny! |

| The name "Texas
Quake" - what is that all about? We were in California when the body and paintwork were being completed, and we knew we needed some sort of graphic. Earthquakes are a way on life on the left coast, and we never saw a seismograph image on a California car. So it seemed to fit. After we moved back to Texas, the migration to the "Texas Quake" seemed like an easy conversion. |
